BATTLE HIGH SCHOOL WALL OF HONOR

Muriel Williams Battle High School is a public high school in Columbia, Missouri. We were asked to use an existing space in their building to create a Wall of Honor highlighting their incredible students. The Spartans are fierce competitors, talented musicians, and academic honor students among many other achievements. We created a system which spotlights their school pride while making it easy to pay tribute to honorees each year. The spearhead motif helps carry the visual momentum of the wall from left to right. So each year (the template allows for at least 20 years of recognition) the wall populates with names, thus adding to the movement. The name plaques are set at various depths to add more visual interest — this makes it easier for each name to stand out. We also developed a plaque template so high school officials can work directly with the fabricator to easily produce the name plaques each year.
